Another Tournament

After Christmas Prentice was able to participate in another tournament and they ended up with another 1st place finish.  As you can see the night ended up very windy and cold so it was an interesting game but she played great and added another medal to her pile.

Always love the mohawk.

Sometimes this little one seems so accident proned!  He and Cardon were playing at the park and he he ended up hitting his mouth and nose so hard he got a pretty bad bloody nose and lip.  Luckily Jer is our resident doctor and had him all fixed up.  He had a swollen lip for the next couple days though.  There was a lot of blood so I was pretty worried at first so luckily it wasn't as bad as it first appeared.

Picture with the 1st place trophy.  Way to go Tacy!!

New Year...New Changes

There have been so many exciting changes within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  One of them being that children and youth advance to the next class the year the turn the appropriate age instead of waiting until their actual birthday.  Truman was ordained to the office of teacher and gets to set up the sacrament now.  He has been very diligent in his responsibilities and even volunteers to pass when they need him.  He's such a good person.  We are working on coming up with an idea for his Eagle Scout project so he can get that finished up as well.  Hopefully this summer he will have a little extra time to finish it up!

Tacy was able to make the big jump from primary to Young Women's which was exciting for her.  She has gone and done baptisms probably like 10 times already.  She has been very committed and has worked  hard on completing her Young Women Personal Progress requirements.  She hasn't even been in 6 months and will probably finish up in the next month or so by finishing the Book of Mormon.  She has been so diligent and responsible in doing a lot of it on her own.  I don't tell them nearly enough but they make me proud.  I really am lucky to be their mom!

These are the questions I filled out when they welcomed her into Young Women's.

This was a cute little photo shoot she did with her friend Aubrey.  She sure is beautiful!

We have also been doing the new "Come Follow Me" curriculum the church started at the new year.  It has been nice to be able to study and talk about the life and teachings of Jesus as a family.  The kids each have a journal and after we talk about that week's lesson they write down things that they remembered or that stood out to them.  I feel like they are really learning the scriptures.  And of course we aren't complaining about 2 hour Sunday church time.  Primary seems like a breeze and I'm loving my counselor responsibilities in the primary.

Christmas Eve

We went to my parents for Christmas Eve dinner.  We had the best fajitas.  The kids decorated gingerbread houses, and got their Christmas pajamas.

All ready for Christmas morning.

Razoring

We were able to take a Razor ride in between the craziness of Christmas activities.  We've found that the kids love it if we let them have some time driving.  I think they will be pretty comfortable behind the wheel when it comes time to get their drivers permit.  I love that we can still do things outside in December!

More Christmas traditions

We were able to go see the temple lights.

Tacy had a little Christmas party with some of her friends.  They had hot chocolate, exchanged white elephant gifts, and watched a Christmas movie.

We saw the Live Nativity at Tuacahn.  I barely got Truman and Tacy to stand by Santa.  Might be the last year.

Christmas activities

The only one I could get to sit on Santa's lap at the ward Christmas party.

Jer spent so much time working with the boys to get Chambers train ready for the "Polar Express" program.  It was such a fun day.

Bubble fun.  Nala thought about getting in.

I was able to go help in Chambers' classroom when they made gingerbread houses.  He ate as many as he put on but I was so happy to be there with him.

I was able to take Tacy to Tuacahn for a Christmas play.  Only I can't remember the name!!!

Fun with Leaves

The kids managed to have a lot of fun while we raked up the leaves in our front yard.  And as you can see, Nala did too.  The leaf blower was a favorite for all.

The Candy Canes

Tacy's team was able to split into groups and participate in the 3v3 holiday classic after Thanksgiving.  It was a lot of fun to watch.  Completely different than a normal game.  It was fast paced and lots of actions.  There is a bit of an art to it and after making some adjustments after they lost their first game, they won the rest and easily took home gold.  They had fun dressing up as candy canes.

Another day of soccer for these little boys.
