We really had a great Easter. Leading up to it was just as great as the actual day. We did a night egg hunt with hidden eggs that were lit up with glow bracelets inside (thanks Pinterest). The kids had the most fun they've ever had creating colorful eggs with their cousin Lilly. Jer and I both had to give lessons on Easter Sunday so we didn't have our Easter hunt until after church. Every year we wonder how the Easter bunny managed to give us so much candy, and every year is just as much as the year before. The kids were very sweet to give me some Twix candy bars immediately since they know that's one of the few candies I like.

I sure love this group of people. One of our favorite things to do is just be with them. In the end, it's all about family. We may not be perfect, but we accept each other in spite of it.
I know I'm always bragging about Aunt Monique. But she is simply the best to my kids. She is always so sweet to take time to be with them and really play with them (something I could do better at). I especially noticed this weekend that while Prentice had a blast playing with her cousin Lilly, Truman was a little left out, until sweet Aunt Monique would make him feel special and do just the things he wanted. I know he loves her so much and they will always have a very special bond. They just really click...always have.

The kids did a great job decorating Easter cookies this year. They may of had ton of frosting and just as many sprinkles, but they took their time and really put some thought into them.

Art Festival
We have sort of made it a tradition to go to the St. George Art Festival every year on Easter weekend. We really do have a lot of fun and the kids have even more fun. We really enjoyed being able to go with my parents, sister, brother Anton and his family.
It was the first time the kids were able to play in the fountain downtown this year and although the water was still a little cold they didn't seem too bothered. Even Cardon couldn't stay out even with his clothes, until he got quite the surprise when the water sprayed up when he was standing on it.

We got to watch Aunt Monique perform and it was amazing.
She even toughed it out after her little mouth/gum surgery (we loved her Botox lips for a few days until the swelling went down) to belt out a great song.
I liked this picture of my grandparents all bundled up watching the show.

Family Pictures
I really wanted to get some family pictures done and there never seems to be a good time, but we made it happen last Sunday. We were unsure where we were going to do them, but then Jer spotted this old house and then we just walked around from there and found some cool places. I have to admit, it was stressful and there were more then a few tears and angry tones, but as usual, after it was all over I was so glad we got around to doing them. Thanks to my dad and sister for helping out with the family shots and trying to get kids to smile.

1st Grade Field Trip
Last minute my Grandparents were able to babysit Prentice and Danielle stepped in to watch sick Cardon, and I made Truman's day by being able to go on his field trip to Snow Canyon State Park. We went on a fun hike, ate lunch on the grass, and went to the sand hills. It was fun to be there with Truman and I was pleasantly surprised that he wanted to be with me the whole time and not just his friends. He really does love school and couldn't be happier being around all his friends and just experiencing life! Thanks to everyone who helped with the kids.

The classes competed to see who could make the loudest storm.
Of course Truman was right at home on the sand hills. He and his friends went so far I couldn't even see them at the end. Baths were a must that night.

Busy day and really didn't think I had the time or energy to pull it off, but so glad I made the effort and was able to be with him. I remember loving to go on field trips with my mom. It made me feel so proud of her and so lucky to be her kid.

1 Year Old Shots
Decided to try our had at doing it at home. We thought they turned out pretty good considering it's our first time. Trying to get a busy and fast one year old to sit or stand still is no easy task. He was happy and good for the shoot. Didn't want the hat on his head and wanted to run to Jer and lay on him while he was trying to photograph him. We are going to try and tackle family shots outside sometime this week. I'll need a little time to gear up for that one. I don't know if the quilt background is a little much but it's one I just finished and I thought it had some fun colors in it for a 1 year old. The chair is one that is my Grandma Ballam's so it has some history that we liked.
