We headed out to Jeremy's pit this last Saturday to get some compost for the start of our garden that did suprisingly well last year. The kids were thrilled to each take a turn in the tractor to pour the compost into the back of the truck. They also had no qualms about playing in the compost when they found out it was made of manure. Jer was so good to take a break from the pantry project he is doing for me at home to start on this one.Of course Truman was right in his element when I looked over and saw him rolling around and playing in the dirt just like a little pig. I'll post more pics when we get it planted. I love this time of year!

St. Patricks and Air Show
St. Patrick's Day fell on the day of the air show here in St. George, so we tried to have fun doing both. The kids woke up to green milk, Lucky Charms cereal, and a scavenger hunt to find some green treasures (thank goodness for Pinterest). We missed most the traffic and had a great time watching the air show from a lookout at Jeremy's pit. We brought a pizza and out camping chars and our neighbor L'Deane and Grandma Linda. Truman and Cardon were happy for the chance to play around in the dirt. We went swimming later in the day for a fun Saturday.

Discovery Museum
We had the best time at the Discovery Museum in Las Vegas over Spring Break. They actually had to make us leave when they were closing. The kids had a blast. Kind of makes me wish they had one by us.
Truman spent a long time building dams to redirect water and make things float to different places.
So Prentice got a LITTLE scared in the tornado simulation. Sad I didn't open the door...I just took pictures.
This was actually really hard. And although I thought I was in decent shape, this contraption proved otherwise. You had to pull a rope and use all your upper body strength to pull you to the top. Didn't quite make it.
Truman had so much fun trying to blow giant bubbles.Prentice did a little experiment with milk, food coloring, and dishwasher soap. Great time with the kids and thanks so much to my mom and sister, Monique for coming to help and hang out. Aunt Monique even got a good nap in the middle of it!
I don't have any picture, because we couldn't use the camera, but we were also able to go to the Body Exhibit at the Luxor in Vegas. We had heard a lot of good things so I had high expectations, but it really was a neat experience. I've never seen anything quite like it. Learned some new things, and I know my kids learned some new things. Prentice was very concerned that there weren't more girls for the exhibits.
Over our break I also got some sewing in and was able to finish 7 more pillowcases. Don't know what I'll do with all of them but they are fast and easy and pretty cheap in the fabric is on sale.

We kept his birthday party simple by inviting our neighbor L'Deane and Grandparents Ballam and Brog for the celebration. We let him eat his own cake and open his 2 presents (sad I know but he's my third and we have so much stuff). As far as the cake goes, he licked some frosting but then got annoyed it was on his hands and wasn't too interested in it for long. He actually started trying to push it off the side of his high chair. He loved us singing Happy Birthday for his and cheered and clapped.
