Another Year

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Another year has quickly passed and many things have changed!

Jeremy is really enjoying his new job he started this year at Western Rock. They treat him well and appreciate all his hard work and dedication. Jeremy is busy in the Elders Quorum at church. He was also elected to be the Home Owners Association President a couple months ago. We appreciate all he does to provide for our family. He does a great job at balancing work, church, and family time.

Nicole is working part time as a kindergarten aid, helping kids with reading skills and strategies. The rest of her time is spent at home, adjusting to the joys and stresses of having two kids. She enjoys being the Beehive advisor in Young Women. In her spare time she likes making bows, scrapbooking, beading, and making blankets.

Truman is still the light of our lives and constantly entertains us. He is two and a half years old now. This year he badly sprained his ankle while going down the slide at the park. He is so full of energy and excitement. He loves life and you will hardly ever catch him without a grin on his face. As of late, Truman has entered the world of the "big boys" and is using the potty instead of his diaper. Truman loves to play outside, explore, read books, color, and watch his favorite movies. He has been a great big brother so far and even shares his toys with his sister.

Prentice has been a wonderful addition to our growing family. She is six months old this month. She is definitely our little princess! She always wants mom to hold her (even at night), and is content as long as she is fed and rested. She is sitting up on her own now and just got her first tooth. She loves her big brother and smiles whenever she sees him.

Nativity

We went to the live nativity on Monday night at Tuacahn for Family Home Evening. We had been once before, two years ago, but Truman wasn't old enough to disturb everyone though the performance. Before we got there, Jeremy told Truman there were going to be camels and so when the animals came on the stage, Truman loudly says, "Dad camels." It probably doesn't sound like too big of a deal, but you have to remember that it was silent in the audience. Needless to say, Truman doesn't have a whisper voice. It was a fun, spiritual night and we were glad to be reminded of what Christmas is all about.

Santa!

Truman and Prentice got to sit on Santa's lap for the first time. We weren't sure how Truman would react to sitting on a stranger's lap, but in typical Truman fashion, it didn't seem to phase him. When Santa asked Truman what he wanted for Christmas, he replied, "presents." I guess he's not too picky, just any presents will do. Mom and dad love being able to use Santa as leverage for good behavior.

First Rodeo

Prentice went to her first rodeo this weekend. We went to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Truman stayed home with Aunt Monique and Prentice came with mom and dad to the rodeo. We got her all dressed up in her cowgirl boots for the occasion. She looked adorable and everyone there stopped to look at her or tell us how cute she was. She was quite the center of attention; probably because no one else was crazy enough to bring a baby to the rodeo. Jeremy and I had a lot of fun, but Prentice thought it was way too loud and was pretty unhappy. She fell asleep for part of it but woke up to loud noises, unfamiliar surroundings, and a very wet diaper. She was completely content once we walked out of the stadium and on to the bus.
