Park City Tournament

We had a busy few days going to Park City for Tacy's 5 soccer games.  She played amazing.  I am so proud of her.  She works hard and is determined and it pays off when she plays soccer.  I love watching her and cheering her on.  And I try not to embaress her too much.  She ended up scoring 7 goals total.  4 of them were in one game.  It was her best tournament yet and she helped her team win the Park City Extreme Championship.  Her coach says they are #1 in the state now.  Can't wait to see what this team continues to do in the future.

We also spent some time at the Olympic Training Park before her championship game.  We also got some back to school shopping done at the outlets.  The kids were sweet, making sore they didn't spend too much money.

Palisades

We went to the Palisades with Anton, Liz, Lilly, and Claire.  We had so much fun for 3 days.  It was a relaxing time and the kids had a blast with their cousins.

The first evening after a couple hours at the lake, Cardon spotted a little snake.  We almost didn't believe him because at first we couldn't find it, but sure enough it was there.  All the kids took turns holding it.

The boys spent some time with Jer whittling their sticks.

Our cabin had tons of flies.  They kept getting in even when we kept the door closed.  But it kept the boys entertained for a long time trying to kill them.

Jer got a new paddle board for Father's Day for the Palisades and it was a lot of fun.  The kids spent hours seeing if they could all stand up on it.  They laughed and giggled every time they fell off.

We took turns making dinner.  This night Jer had Anton helping to make breaded chicken.  Jer also made dutch oven potatoes, and a tasty apple cobbler.  He sure is a great cook and plans the best meals.

The kids went geo caching a couple times while we were there all led by Truman.  The kid s were pretty willing to walk and go hiking when there were prizes involved.

The last night Anton and Liz went home and left their girls to play with us.  We roasted marshmallows, went for a Razor ride which ended with Chambers throwing up all over himself and me and then getting a flat tire.  The kids played with glow sticks and told ghost stories before going to bed.

We had a great time and look forward to more time outdoors.  More on that coming soon! Jer drove home and I drove up north for Tacy's soccer tournament in Park City.

4th of July

We got home from Salt Lake the afternoon of the 4th.  That evening we got shakes from Iceberg and went to the red rocks to watch the fireworks.

Right as it was starting to get dark I took Chambers for a little walk to keep him entertained until the fireworks started.  Truman was close behind us and all of the sudden told us to stop because there was a rattlesnake.  We shined the flashlight around and couldn't see it for a moment before we looked down and saw the baby rattlesnake right  next to us.  I was so grateful Truman noticed the sound of the rattle before one of us stepped on it.  I hadn't heard a thing.

It was a great 4th of July and we have made quite the tradition to watch the downtown fireworks.  It was a fun night being together celebrating our freedoms.

Tacy's Summer Birthday

Tacy decided to dye her hair with kool-aid the day before her birthday.  It turned out a little darker than I thought but it has started to fade.

In the morning I took her out to breakfast at "The Crepery."

Later that afternoon she had her friends over for a swim party at my parents house.  They swam and played games.

That night we took her to Texas Roadhouse with just Jer and I.  It was fun being able to spend the whole day with her without school and as many schedules.  She sure is growing up.  This year she turned 11.  She is so well rounded and I am proud to be her mother.  She is good at so many things.  I hope she knows how beautiful she is inside and out.  I love her so much and hope I'm doing a decent enough job of raising her to be her best.  Happiest Birthday my sweet girl.

Random summer pics

The kids and I were able to watch Lauren.  She and her parents live in our basement right now while they build a house.  We were so excited to watch her while they moved.  All the kids were so cute with her.

I don't have many pictures but we took the kids up for a weekend with family.  We spent most our time at Lagoon and it was fun to be able to go with Ernest and his kids a couple times.  We took breaks and visited Jer's parents.  We were pretty exhausted after 3 days at Lagoon but were glad we got to take the kids up.

Tacy came up with a Lego challenge for the boys and they have had fun building them this summer.

I finally got so sick of seeing Cardons hair in his face I resorted to putting it in a man bun.

I had to document these two getting along even if it was creating a huge mess making slime.  It has become a favorite activity and I feel like I'm finking slime everywhere these days!

Trying on the new construction hats dad got for them.  We are hoping to come up with a Halloween costume to go with them.

We found Chambers sound asleep behind the couch like this.

More Summer Fun

Went to feed the ducks and it was a good day because they all seemed starving.

We went to Fiesta Fun and even though it was pretty hot the kids had a lot of fun golfing, driving Go-carts, doing bumper boats, and playing games.

Hanging out at the pool.

Cardon spent most of a morning picking cherries off our tree int he front yard.  It was nice because when they fall to the ground they are so messy.  When he decides to do something he is sure determined and focused.

The first part of summer we found out that a boy that goes to the kids' school was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  They removed the tumor but after testing found he had cancer and would need chemo in Seattle.  Prentice suggested her and her friends do a Bake Sale.  They earned about $266 to help him with his treatment.  It was proud of her for thinking of such a great way to use the money from the sale.  The girls were excited to send Morgan what they had earned.

This is how I found the boys after a hot summer day of playing.
