Another Year

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Another year has quickly passed and many things have changed!

Jeremy is really enjoying his new job he started this year at Western Rock. They treat him well and appreciate all his hard work and dedication. Jeremy is busy in the Elders Quorum at church. He was also elected to be the Home Owners Association President a couple months ago. We appreciate all he does to provide for our family. He does a great job at balancing work, church, and family time.

Nicole is working part time as a kindergarten aid, helping kids with reading skills and strategies. The rest of her time is spent at home, adjusting to the joys and stresses of having two kids. She enjoys being the Beehive advisor in Young Women. In her spare time she likes making bows, scrapbooking, beading, and making blankets.

Truman is still the light of our lives and constantly entertains us. He is two and a half years old now. This year he badly sprained his ankle while going down the slide at the park. He is so full of energy and excitement. He loves life and you will hardly ever catch him without a grin on his face. As of late, Truman has entered the world of the "big boys" and is using the potty instead of his diaper. Truman loves to play outside, explore, read books, color, and watch his favorite movies. He has been a great big brother so far and even shares his toys with his sister.

Prentice has been a wonderful addition to our growing family. She is six months old this month. She is definitely our little princess! She always wants mom to hold her (even at night), and is content as long as she is fed and rested. She is sitting up on her own now and just got her first tooth. She loves her big brother and smiles whenever she sees him.

Nativity

We went to the live nativity on Monday night at Tuacahn for Family Home Evening. We had been once before, two years ago, but Truman wasn't old enough to disturb everyone though the performance. Before we got there, Jeremy told Truman there were going to be camels and so when the animals came on the stage, Truman loudly says, "Dad camels." It probably doesn't sound like too big of a deal, but you have to remember that it was silent in the audience. Needless to say, Truman doesn't have a whisper voice. It was a fun, spiritual night and we were glad to be reminded of what Christmas is all about.

Santa!

Truman and Prentice got to sit on Santa's lap for the first time. We weren't sure how Truman would react to sitting on a stranger's lap, but in typical Truman fashion, it didn't seem to phase him. When Santa asked Truman what he wanted for Christmas, he replied, "presents." I guess he's not too picky, just any presents will do. Mom and dad love being able to use Santa as leverage for good behavior.

First Rodeo

Prentice went to her first rodeo this weekend. We went to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Truman stayed home with Aunt Monique and Prentice came with mom and dad to the rodeo. We got her all dressed up in her cowgirl boots for the occasion. She looked adorable and everyone there stopped to look at her or tell us how cute she was. She was quite the center of attention; probably because no one else was crazy enough to bring a baby to the rodeo. Jeremy and I had a lot of fun, but Prentice thought it was way too loud and was pretty unhappy. She fell asleep for part of it but woke up to loud noises, unfamiliar surroundings, and a very wet diaper. She was completely content once we walked out of the stadium and on to the bus.

Thanksgiving 2007

We spent Thanksgiving in St. George this year! Courtney and Greg came from California and Anton and Liz came from Salt Lake. Truman loved being able to entertain everyone and couldn't get enough of all the attention that was showered on him. Truman also enjoyed his new gifts from his Aunt Courtney and Uncle Greg. It was fun to get together and enjoy a good meal. We hope our family knows how thankful we are for each of them. Thanks for the fun games and laughs.

Lucky Us

Jer is such an amazing dad. He is so involved and hands on with the kids, and is always willing to give mom a break. We are lucky to have him in our life. Love you!

Rolling Over

Prentice rolled over about a month ago for the first time, but now she rolls all over. She rolls all around to get to what she wants. We took this picture one day when we came into the family room to find her in a completely different spot then where we left her. She is obviously pretty proud of herself!

Hiking Fun

We went on a hike in the turtle preserve behind our house. It was a beautiful day!

Truman ran the whole way there (when he wasn't rolling in the dirt), and made dad carry him on his shoulders the whole way back. This is what Truman looked like by the end of the hike.

This is what Prentice looked like for the whole hike. She fell asleep when we started and was asleep when we got home. We find it funny that she can't sleep at night in her quiet, dark room and comfy bed, but she is perfectly able to sleep in the middle of a sunny day, sitting up in her baby carrier.

Halloween

Truman was finally into Halloween this year, so in turn, so were we. He dressed up as Spiderman and Prentice dressed up as the little mermaid. Even mom and dad got in the Halloween spirit by dressing up as well. We took the kids trunk or treating at the church and then around to a couple neighbors houses before calling it a night. Truman would say "treat" and hold up his bucket, and then say "thank you" before he moved on to the next car. He couldn't see very well out of his mask so a few times he would reach to get a piece of candy out of the bowl and completely miss the bowl. Or he would try to drop the candy into his treat bucket and miss the bucket. It was pretty funny to watch. Eventually we felt sorry enough for him to take the mask off. A couple weeks before Halloween we went to Staheli farms to pick out pumpkins and play at the farm. Truman had a blast even though it was very windy and a little cold for St. George weather.

Utah Game

We went to the Utah, UNLV football game with Prentice. We left Truman at home with grandma because we didn't feel like chasing him around the bleachers. We had to sit way up in the stands because Prentice's bottom lip would start to tremble and she would cry every time the fans cheered. Once we moved away from everyone we had a great time, even though Utah lost!

Prentice Tacy Leonard was born June 13, 2007. She weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and was 19 inches long. We were surprised and happy to have a baby girl to add to our family. Now that we have adjusted to sleepless nights and the dynamics of having 2 children we have finally gotten around to creating our family blog. Prentice is a happy baby who likes to be held and watch her brother, Truman. We hope this blog is a way for you to see what we are up to here in St. George.
