Homecoming

Doesn't Danielle look cute for her first dance?

Parade

We went to the parade for the rodeo. We weren't brave enough to take the kids to the actual rodeo (probably next year). The last time we went to this parade, Truman was Prentice's age and wore the same boots. It was fun to dress the up and they really enjoyed it. They liked watching the horses, the big trucks, listening to the music, and of course getting the candy they threw.

Every time a band would play music, Prentice would of course feel the urge to dance.

First Friend Party

Truman went to his first friend birthday party. Jer and I are worried that it might be his last if word gets out. He definitely had the most energy and was a bit of a bully on the blow up toy. Luckily mom and dad were both there to help out with him. It was Kelly's 2nd birthday party (his crush in nursery). Jer said when they brought over the invitation he sat in bed with it and and just stared at it (it had a picture of Kelly on it)!

Truman bouncing all the little kids on the blow up toy.
Truman playing games.
Swimming in the pool. He couldn't wait to jump in from the minute we got there. Everyone couldn't believe what a fish he was.

Temple and Ice Cream

For Family Home Evening last night we decided to take the kids to the temple because Truman is always asking about it and has never been there. We just walked around the outside and talked about how people get married there. We told him that Aunt Court and Uncle Greg got married at the St. George temple and mom and dad got married at a different temple. Truman just sat there for a moment and you could tell the wheels were churning in his head. He proceeded to say, "I marry my Prentice in the temple," and then grabbed her hand. Apparently we have a little more explaining to do on that subject. I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures.

After we walked around the outside, we went to the visitor's center and then got some ice cream. As you can see the kids' literally needed a good hose down after the ice cream.

Joy School and Gymnastics

Truman started his first week of Joy School. It was at our house this week and Truman could hardly wait. There are two kids who do it with us. This is his friend Hailey and his other friend Kai was on a trip this week. Here they are painting and no I don't know why Truman is making that face. He struggled last year at Joy School and it was frustrating at times, but I hoped this year he would be more mature and able to sit and listen for more than a few minutes. So far it is much better and it has been a good experience.

Truman also had his first day of gymnastics. As you can see, he's a natural:) We are hoping he will use some of his endless amounts of energy here. He actually did really well (at least as well as the other kids). I have so much respect for this poor, patient teacher who did this for an hour! When she got done with the class, she came out and said, "they are a rambunctious bunch," with a smile on her face. No kidding. She definitely needs to get paid more. He is so excited to go next Tuesday. I love the kids just sitting there crying in the front of everyone. Just so you know, he did this the whole time. Poor kid.

Cute Hair

People always ask me how I get Prentice's hair so cute. Let's just say I have a few different tricks, and it doesn't usually go smoothly. It's all worth it in the end and I think she'll thank me later. At least this Sunday morning I didn't have to sit on her to get it perfect. That usually only happens on pig tail days:)

Day Trip to Cedar City

On Saturday we decided to head for cooler weather. We decided to go to Cedar City to go for a drive and hike up Cedar Canyon. We had no idea everyone else would be there because it was Cedar City's Festival Days:) After grumpy kids, being attacked by bees, and unhelpful and rude fast food employees we ended up having an enjoyable day...

swinging

playing at the big discovery park
finding a fishing pond
having a water fight and taking a short hike

Tortise

After over 2 years in our house, we finally saw a rare tortoise in our backyard. We hope it has a home nearby so it will come visit often. We think it was eating the cactus.

Should I be more worried that...

he's loving a girl's big wheel?

or

he has no fear?

Anton, Liz, and Lily

Anton, Liz, and Lily came down for the Labor Day holiday. It was the first time they had come since Lily had been born. It was fun to have all of the cousins together (all 3 that is). I also had to post a picture of this baby chair that I love. I wish they would have had these when my kids were young. I have to have another baby (eventually) just so I can get one. This is a picture of the kids helping to make cookies. It was also fun to get to know Lily. She is such a content and happy baby.
Truman loved Uncle Anton. Anton might be grateful he has a baby girl, not a boy after spending a few days with Truman, but Truman had a blast. Here is a little taste of some of the things they did this weekend. Truman kept coming back for more, and Anton kept giving it.
