I can't believe it's a new year. I'm not usually one for New Year's resolutions, but this year I am working on a few things. One of them being getting back in the habit of taking pictures to document all the little moments, especially with my Nikon camera. Here are a few shots of the last couple of weeks.
Whenever I get in the shower after the gym, Chambers manages to find me and sneak in. He plays under my feet while I finish and then usually hops in the tub to play some more while I finish getting ready. He is one clean kid!
Chambers found this hat of Truman's and wore it around for one day, even when we went to Costco.
The little boys love to help with the dishes. We have lost a few dishes in the process but it really is a big help and they get so excited to do it. They have a great little system down. Chambers unloads the dishes and hands them up to Cardon who puts them away. It's been a long time since I've had to do the dishwasher. They like doing it so much they usually do it even when it's one of the older kids' jobs that day.
On this particular day I actually just felt grateful believe it or not to be able to do laundry for everyone in my family. It's a lot of work each week but all these clothes from one load was just a reminder of the wonderful people I'm surrounded with. I think I managed to fill up every inch of our fireplace. It's actually turned into a great place to put all the clean clothes after I fold them.
Jer went out of town for a couple days for meetings up north which meant we could do simple meals. The fridge was pretty bare and I didn't have time to make it to the store so I figured they would be more than happy with grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. I spruced mine up with fresh tomatoes, and spinach and surprisingly everyone wanted mine!
The next night I made a rare exception and took the kids out to dinner at McDonalds. I was going to wait to eat with Jer when he got home, but boy was it hard not wanting those fries. I was more than willing to finish a few that the little boys left. They didn't even seem to like the food that much. At least they didn't eat much. But maybe they were just too excited and wanted to go play.
I had been feeling low the days leading up to Jer being gone and decided maybe I needed to focus a little more on me to make me better for everyone. One of the things I started with was splurging on this planner. I ordered it from intheleafttreetops.com and I have really liked it so far. Jer teases me a little because I can do most things the planner does on my phone, but I like writing it down and having it in this form. It's actually kind of therapeutic I even bought some cool pens to go with it.

I had to take my car in to see if they could fix the back up camera, bluetooth, and CD player and unfortunately Jer couldn't come pick me up so Chambers and I spent over 2 hours waiting for them to finish. I got my whole primary lesson planned out and had fun with my new planner. And Chambers could't have been better. He had a great time playing with toys, having snacks, and playing games on the ipad I brought at the last minute. The bad news is they decided they can fix it, so I still have to bring it back a couple times to get that done. Pretty sure I'm planning the appointment around Jer's schedule this time so I can catch a ride back home.
I took the kids swimming at the pool last night while Jer got a workout in. Chambers just sat and let me rub his head and back for quite a while. Until the kids started encouraging him to dance and shake his booty.
They spent quite a bit of time being incredibly loud and playing football. Cardon has turned into such a good swimmer. He definitely is not forgetting any of the swimming skills he learned over the summer. He's quite the fish. The awesome thing is we forgot towels and it was a really cold night here in St. George. Jer warmed up the car and the kids made a run for it. They were freezing. And Cardon let us know it by crying the whole way home.
