Summer
It's the first true day of my summer break. I had grand plans of me and the kids having the best time ever, since I don't have to teach anymore. The first day of being a stay at home mom. All I can say is, "I'm so glad it's nap time." We barely made it through the park and Wal Mart without a major scene from...yes, both my kids. I can see why Truman was so upset. He only walked out of the store with about ten things to entertain him between mom, grandma, and aunt Monique. By the time we get through nap times and eating schedules, we barely have time to do anything before it's time to eat and sleep again. It's okay, by the time they wake up, dad will be home! What should we do tomorrow? Maybe we'll just hang out at home.

Oh Truman!
Each day Truman is truly full of surprises. Some fun ones and some not so fun. Yesterday was no exception. A day in the life of Truman. Throughout the day he managed to pull the foot off the sewing machine, rip a spider out of his pop-up book (at least he threw it away), wake up Prentice twice by going into her room, go through two pairs of clothes by getting them wet outside before I finally let him run around without them on, get out the scissors and open up water balloons I had gotten for a gift, almost get us kicked out of Home Depot, AND keep us entertained and in love with him the whole time!
Whenever I can't find Truman now I know just where to look. He has learned where I keep the few treats in our house and yesterday I caught him in the act. As you can see he doesn't seem to mind that I found him out and he also doesn't seem bothered by the fact that is pants are falling off and we can see a little too much. The next day I threw some treats away and put some in a different spot. When he scaled the shelves this morning and didn't find them he proceeded to say, "Dad ate the treats." Smart boy!

Is the Weekend Over Already?
Playing with water balloons to cool off. Dad was the main target, but usually Truman ended up wet.

Fun Mother's Day and Fun Kid
What a great Mother's Day I had. Each Mother's Day is more special than the last. It's funny though, Jer is seriously so good to me that it wasn't much different than other days. It did make me reflect on all the joys of being a mother. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to have 2 wonderful kids.
Jeremy was getting upset with Truman because he wouldn't stay in his car seat last night when we were getting ready to drive home after playing tennis and feeding the ducks. It was so cute because as he was reprimanding Truman, he looked up and so sweetly asked, "Dad, are you happy." Priceless.
Truman's new favorite phrase is, "but why." So of course he asks us this all the time until we finally give up and say we don't know. The other morning when Truman woke up, he asked where Prentice was (just like he always does) and I said she was still asleep. He proceeded to ask, "but why." "Um, because she's tired."
Saturday morning for the first time ever, Truman came out of his room when he woke up. Up until this point we have been so lucky because for some unknown reason to us Truman just stays in his bed and reads or plays with toys until we come in and get him.

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy "Mommer's" Day...as Truman told me all day yesterday. We love all the mom's in our life. Thanks for all you do and continue to do. We respect, appreciate, and most of all, love you!

So Sleepy
I don't know why I think this video is so funny and I didn't realize how annoying I was being at the time, but apparently Truman was a little tired after our long drive. He never does this, but he just couldn't keep his eyes open. He had no problem sleeping with Prentice screaming in the background and his annyoing mom bugging him. I would ask him questions and it's like he was talking in his sleep. He is so easygoing and doesn't let anything get to him!

Fun with Polish
Looking at his feet now, a day later, it all seems so innocent and understandable. So I was painting Prentice's toenails while she was eating breakfast. When I came back from putting Prentice down for a nap, Truman was frantically wiping something up. Yes, he had gotten the nail polish and tried to paint his toenails, but actually ended up painting his feet. I put him in the tub while I cleaned it up because it was all over our stone floor and wood cabinets. When I got back to the tub he had dumped out the entire bottle of baby shampoo to clean himself off. The tub was so slippery he couldn't even stand up. He was so proud of his toes and his attempt at a clean up job. I seriously think he is starting his terrible two's at three.

First Steps
Don't blink because you just might miss Prentice's first steps. I filmed her all night just to get this! Does it count? She has actually taken more steps since then. I know she's a little heavy on her feet, but what do you expect. She's getting so big I can't stand it.

Blinds
We finally have blinds after almost two years in our house. I never thought I would be so excited for overpriced window coverings. I know it's sad for the neighbors because they won't be able to see our every move in our house that is full of windows. I love them, but our house feels so much darker. At least now we can pretend like we're not home when someone comes to the door:) Thanks for working so hard to put them up Jer in the middle of your already busy week.
